| The JACL is pleased to announce the winners of the 2022 Japanese American of the Biennium Award. Sam Mihara will be recognized with the award in the area of Education and the Humanities, while Dianne Fukami will be recognized for her contributions in the field of Arts, Literature, and Communication. Mr. Mihara and Ms. Fukami will be recognized at the Sayonara Banquet to close JACL’s annual convention in Las Vegas on the evening of August 6. | | |

JACL Fellowship Opportunity - Become the next Daniel K. Inouye Fellow! |

The Daniel K. Inouye Fellowship is named for the late United States senator from Hawaii. The fellow will monitor key legislative initiatives of importance to the JACL mission, and design and implement JACL-sponsored programs among other tasks and duties. The fellowships provide the opportunity to work on advocacy at a national level through the National JACL office based in Washington, D.C. As a fellow, you will become a key component of the D.C. team. In this position you will be working with JACL staff, other fellows, and the executive director, collectively working to mobilize and inform local chapters. As part of this D.C. branch of National JACL, fellows are integral in establishing a voice for JACL and its members within D.C and the various networks. This voice is critical when it comes to policy issues that affect our communities and collaborating with other organizations in order to establish a stronger collective voice. Priority Deadline: July 10th, 2022 at 11:59 PM HST. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
Program Dates: Start August 2022 or later. This fellowship term lasts 1 year with the possibility to extend for an additional year. |

JACL is hiring for a new position in the San Francisco National Headquarters Office! Director of Finance/CFO - Regular - 32 hours/week
- Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid/work from home schedule available)
- The Director of Finance/CFO is responsible for the financial health of the organization with an annual budget of $2 million and growing. JACL has a diverse source of revenues from membership dues, charitable contributions, corporate sponsorships and partners, annual convention, grants, and a newspaper with advertising revenue.
