| | Today is Veterans Day! Today, JACL honors all those who have served, from the Issei who fought despite being barred from citizenship during World War I to the countless Nisei men and women who served in WWII even though their families were incarcerated behind barbed wire, and to the many others who have served then and now. We thank all of them for their service. |

| JACL Saddened by the Deaths of Former JACL National President, David Lin, and his wife, Jean Lin. “It is with deep sadness that we acknowledge the passing of past National President David Lin, a devoted Life Member of the Japanese American Citizens League for more than two decades,” said JACL National President Larry Oda in a statement released to Pacific Citizen. “Throughout his years of service, David exemplified the highest ideals of leadership, commitment and integrity. He served the organization in numerous capacities, including as vice president for Membership, Planning and Development, and as national president. Most recently, he continued his steadfast dedication as chair of the Investment Policy Committee.” “David’s passing is a tremendous loss to the JACL and to the broader community he served with such devotion. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones during this difficult time. His legacy of leadership and service will be remembered with great respect and gratitude.” Photo: David Lin, left, receives JACL’s Sapphire Pin from Larry Oda at the 2024 JACL National Convention in Philadelphia. | | Kakehashi Project 10th Anniversary - Looking for Story Submissions - EXTENDED! |
| | This year marks the 10th anniversary of the KAKEHASHI Project, which was launched in 2015. To celebrate this special milestone, we’re creating a commemorative booklet “My KAKEHASHI Story”— and we’d love for YOU to be part of it! You’re invited to share your KAKEHASHI story in the form of either: • a short article (featured on one A4 page), or • a short message (up to 100 words) Let’s celebrate this journey together — and inspire the next generation of international exchange participants! Note that outstanding stories may be recognized by JICE and selected for special interviews. We hope this opportunity could greatly enhance your career path! |
