Today is GivingTuesday and the perfect day to invest in JACL and the Pacific Citizen's mission with a financial contribution. GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. The GivingTuesday movement has grown where millions of people around the world contribute back to their communities. Black Friday and Cyber Monday have passed and now is your opportunity to make a difference! Some highlights of our work are: - Passing three Social Justice resolutions at the 2023 Convention for 1) Allyship and action for the Transgender community. 2) Denouncing anti-Asian Alien Land Laws 3) Suppoting the California Task Force that researches Reparations for African Americans.
- Youth Programs for Kakehashi, Scholarships, National Youth/Student Council, intergenerational gatherings, and more.
- Expanding our Education Program through four teacher training workshops in 2023 and updating our Japanese American Experience Curriculim Guide to a digital version.
Thank you for your support! |

Gift a JACL Membership with our Otoshidama Campaign! |
|
|
New Year's Day holds a special place in Japanese culture. During this season, families come together to celebrate the dawning of a new year by engaging in traditional activities, such as Otoshidama. Otoshidama is the tradition of presenting children with a monetary gift in the form of a special envelope that bears the new year's zodiac sign (next year is the Dragon). We hope you join us in celebrating and honoring the long-standing Japanese tradition of Otoshidama by gifting or renewing a membership for someone you cherish dearly. |
